To take the best possible care of your scale, it is important that your samples (what you are trying to weigh) do not come into direct contact with the scale. This is especially true for substances such as chemicals. Instead, try weighing the sample in a beaker or a small bowl. To clean the scale properly, it should be switched off and then gently wiped down. This way, you prevent damage to the scale and its internal components.
