Description
KERN ORA refractometers are ideal, simple instruments for measuring various refractive indices. They are easy to use, portable, and operate without batteries or external power. Each unit comes in a storage box complete with all necessary accessories for measurement: calibration solution, calibration block (if required), pipette, screwdriver, and cleaning cloth.
The ORA AL model is specifically designed for brewers and alcohol producers. It is suitable for determining the sugar content in original wort before fermentation. Equipped with a Plato or Specific Gravity (SG) wort scale, readings can be taken directly without the need for conversion. A model for measuring alcohol content by volume or mass in clear spirits is also available.
Models with an "A" suffix feature ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation), which automatically adjusts measurements for temperature, making the device usable at temperatures between 10 and 30℃. Models without ATC are calibrated at 20℃.
